2018 SD County Fair Field Trip Program & Summer STEAM Maker Festival
The Summer STEAM Maker Festival is a fun and free event held inside the SD County Fair and is part of the Field Trip Program. Both the Field Trip Program and Summer STEAM Maker Festival are free for schools, clubs and educational organizations who want to expose their students to outstanding educational programs and are included with admission. The San Diego County Fair is presented by Albertson’s/Von’s.
2018 San Diego County Fair Field Trip Program
Schools (K-12) and youth organizations are invited to take a FREE field trip to the Fair and participate in hands-on activities, demonstrations, presentations and more!
Deadline to Register: April 30, 2018
Event Date: June 13, 2018
Cost: Students, teachers, and chaperones receive free admission to the Fair (1 teacher/chaperone to 5 students). School buses park for free. Individual cars and vans must pay to park.
Time: Participants must check in between 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM.
Details: Participants will begin their field trip at the Summer STEAM Maker Festival from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. STEAM Maker Challenges will begin at 9 AM. The Festival will continue until 2pm.
At 11:00 AM the Fair will open to the public and groups may explore the entire Fair.

Summer STEAM Maker Festival: This hands-on educational event includes: Make-and-take stations, build challenges, drama workshop, K-Zone, Bridge Stix Engineering and much more.
Free STEAM Challenges: Participate in a fun and free STEAM challenges on your field trip. Challenges include a Recycled Fashion Show, Engineering Recycle Challenge, Robotics Competition, and more. View Challenges here (act now as space is limited).
Creative Youth/Best of K-6: See thousands of youth and school projects K-6th grade on display in this fun, interactive exhibit.
CA Grown: Start your journey on a mission, travel into the Industrial Revolution, experience life on the farm today, and take a glimpse into the future of farming in this fun hands-on exhibit.
World of Horses: Learn about horses in this area that features over 15 horse breeds from all over the world. Watch a horse riding or a horse grooming demo.
The Farm: Spot the Queen Bee, learn about hydroponics & aquaponics, visit the butterfly exhibit, see the baby chick farm, and more! This area is designed to educate on where food comes from.
At 11:00 AM groups may explore the entire Fair.
